Meet the Author
Carey Gable is an accomplished academic and creative writer based in Texas. He has published in state and national journals and scores of newspapers. His passion is creating interesting characters with unique voices.
He is currently writing a series of noir crime mysteries.
With over two decades of experience, Carey has regularly published short stories, plays, and poetry in various journals, magazines, and collections. He is a featured author for Down Home East Texas magazine and has worked as a music and film critic, sports reporter, and professional wrestling writer.
Carey's notable work, The Book of Lesser Traumas, released in July 2024, is described as a non-linear autobiography exploring themes of right and wrong, caring, and coping with tragedy. The book offers readers a compelling and heartfelt journey through his life experiences.
His play, “Is That You, Kilgore Trout?”, was just selected for production in Pyro’s Playfest.
